OnTurtle La Jonquera in Spain won the 2024 ESPORG Award for Excellence in Truck Parking in the category of small parking areas (fewer than 50 spaces). 

OnTurtle La Jonquera is a fuel station and secured parking area located in the town of La Jonquera, next to highway AP7, exit 2. It is rated GOLD level in security and PLATINUM level in services according to the EU-Parking Standard.

The parking area offers 50 parking spots as well as the amenities drivers need for their comfort and security. OnTurtle’s priority is to ensure the safety of their clients and provide them with the highest quality service and assistance throughout their journey.

This is the second year in a row that OnTurtle La Jonquera has been awarded the best truck parking in Europe in the small parking area category. The secure truck parking area was voted the winner based on several criteria: comfort & health, mobility & connectivity, environmental friendliness, and service quality & customer satisfaction. Comfort & Health

The restaurant in La Jonquera is open every day from 6am to 2am. Here, drivers can enjoy a mediterranean menu cooked and prepared by the onsite team. The restaurant has been refurnished and offers a great variety of products with the highest comfort for the driver. The team offers meals that are suited for different kind of diet and healthy meals such as salads, vegetables, fish are available for customers.

The parking area offer special prices (10% discount) to Transcard cardholders, their loyalty card. The driver has the option to choose a starter + main course + dessert for 12,90€. Drivers may also purchase drinks and snacks at the shop, which is opened from 8AM – 8PM and also from the vending machines.

Laundry facilities are available for drivers onsite and include 2 laundry machines and their staff speaks several languages (Spanish, English, French, Polish and Czech).

Mobility & Connectivity

La Jonquera is located at a strategic point, very close to the border between Spain and France. The area is surrounded by green areas and several amenities are available for drivers on or near the site:

  • Hotel Tramuntana *** is located next to the station. This is a new construction, which offers the necessary services for drivers to rest and recuperate.
  • The 30.000m2 site offers two fuel stations with 6 lines for cars and 8 lines for trucks. Diesel, winter diesel, amble, and 95 gasoline are available at their stations.
  • Drivers can use the OnTurtle fuel cards and they also accept other cards such as C2A, DKV, EDC, LOGPAY, UTA, MORGAN FUELS.
  • Not only do they accept the majority of European petrol Cards, but OnTurtle also has agreements with parking platforms for parking reservations. Drivers can make a reservation in their parking facilities through the SNAP platform.
  • The whole parking area and the restaurant have unlimited Access to high speed free WIFI.

The OnTurtle offer doesn’t stop there. They also have several other amenities available for customers:

  • A tachograph is available for drivers
  • A multi-brand garage is available for drivers in Figueres
  • A tire assistance garage is also available in La Jonquera
  • A fire station is located within 300m of thestation
  • A police station is located within 300m of the station
  • They have 43 surveillance cameras in the area
  • There is a truck wash located 1.5 km away

Environmental Friendliness

This year, OnTurtle began a project to provide an ultra-fast charging hub for cars and trucks. This project is currently a work in progress.

The station is entirely covered by photovoltaic panels. The installation was placed in 2019 with 18Kw of power. In 2023 they increased power with an additional 168Kw.

In 2022 OnTurtle reduced 7,990 Kg of CO2.

Service Quality & Customer Satisfaction

At, OnTurtle customer satisfaction is key. A coherent customer-oriented strategy to guarantee quality of service and care to drivers and its constant improvement, including a dedicated procedure to deal with customers complaints.
